These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the OpenSeat restaurant management platform, waitlist systems, TV pairings, digital menus, staff invitation workflows, and customer tracker pages. By accessing our services, creating an account, or joining any virtual restaurant queue, you agree to follow and be legally bound by these terms.

1. Description of Service

OpenSeat.in provides an interactive restaurant waitlist management SaaS platform. The service includes:

  • A customer-facing virtual waitlist accessed via QR code scanning.
  • Real-time queuing tracking updates with dynamic wait estimation.
  • Manager and staff administrative dashboards for seating guests and managing tables.
  • Paired TV lobby displays to broadcast current queuing numbers.
  • Customer tier loyalty reward programs (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum).

2. Account Registration and Roles

You may register for an account using your phone number or email credentials. Accounts are grouped into specific roles:

Restaurant Owners/Managers:Responsible for the venue configuration, approving layout coordinates, menu editing, and onboarding staff.
Customers / Diners:May join waitlists, track queues in real-time, pair active waitlist tickets, and submit restaurant reviews.

3. Waitlist Fair Use Policy

To keep wait times accurate for all diners, we enforce a strict Fair Use Policy:

  • One Spot Policy: Diners can only hold exactly one (1) active spot in a queue across our entire partner network at any given time. Joining multiple restaurant queues simultaneously is strictly prohibited.
  • Arrival Window: When you receive a "Table Ready" notification (via WhatsApp, SMS, or browser chime), you must present yourself at the host stand within the grace period set by the venue (typically 5 to 10 minutes). Failure to show up within this period will result in your entry being marked as "Cancelled".
  • Host Authority: The host stands and managers reserve full ultimate authority to adjust, seat, cancel, or re-order waitlist positions in real-time to facilitate optimal venue operations.

4. Loyalty Tiers, Points, and Review Guidelines

OpenSeat diners can earn points to upgrade their customer tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) by completing dining visits and leaving reviews:

  • Review Integrity: You may only review venues where you have successfully been seated through an active OpenSeat queue ticket. Reviews must be truthful, authentic, and free of spam or offensive content.
  • Abuse Protection: Fabricating entries, submitting malicious fake reviews, or attempting to exploit the tier-points system will result in the immediate forfeiture of all loyalty points and a permanent ban from the platform.

5. Staff Invitation and Onboarding

Managers may invite team members to join their restaurant staff group using unique invitation tokens. Staff members are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all customer names and phone numbers displayed on the management console. Managers are fully liable for any actions taken by invited staff members.

6. Accuracy of Wait Times

Estimated wait times displayed on the customer-facing tracker pages are calculated using a static base projection combined with the number of active parties ahead of you. These calculations are estimates and do not represent a guarantee of seating. OpenSeat.in and partner venues are not liable for any delays, extended wait times, or seating disputes.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

OpenSeat.in is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the platform will operate error-free, that notifications will always be delivered instantaneously, or that internet connectivity will be uninterrupted. In no event shall OpenSeat.in, its founders, developers, or affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the platform.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the platform after updates have gone live signifies your acceptance of the revised Terms.
